Overview

An independent accessible free advocacy service for people with learning disabilities, high functioning autism, aspergers, or mental health conditions.

The role of an Short Term Independent Advocate

Helping individuals to understand their condition and how it affects their life

Helping people to have a voice during difficult times in life

Communicating needs and wishes to family members, carers and professionals

Preparing for and attending important meetings

Having time to help individuals to understand particular processes affecting their life

Exploring options to enable people to make informed decisions

Helping clients to access other services if we are unable to provide advocacy support

Accessing other services if we are unable to provide  advocacy support

Who may need help from a Short Term Independent Advocate

Clients will be 18 +, living in Swindon and with learning disabilities, high functioning autism, aspergers, or mental health conditions
